John Boltri, M.D., FAAFP

Medical School: Ohio State University
Residency: Family medicine, Summa Akron (formerly Akron City Hospital)
Special interests: Prevention and treatment of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia

Prior to joining NEOMED, Dr. Boltri cared for patients in private practice as well as academic practices in Georgia and Michigan. Dr. Boltri served as a member of the National Clinical Care Commission, co-chairing the group on targeted prevention, and made recommendations to Congress and the Department of Health and Human Services on treatment and prevention of diabetes in the United States. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Boltri is professor and chair of Family and Community Medicine in the NEOMED College of Medicine.


Alicia Bond, M.D.

Medical school: NEOMED, 2016
Residency: Family medicine, Cleveland Clinic Akron General

In addition to her role as physician patient care provider, Dr. Bond serves as health director for the Student-Run Free Clinic. As health director, she oversees all aspects of care and guides and directs the activities of students in SRFC. Dr. Bond is a clinical instructor of family and community medicine in the NEOMED College of Medicine.


Elisabeth Whipkey, M.D.

Medical school: NEOMED, 2017
Residency: Family medicine, Summa Barberton

Dr. Whipkey practiced with Summa before joining the NEOMED clinical team as a physician patient care provider in 2021. Special interests include treatment of opioid use disorder, management of chronic disease and pediatrics.


Kathryn Fleck, RN, WCC, CBIS, QBISP-S

Nursing school: Kent State University

An experienced director of nursing, Fleck is skilled in wound care, training and quality assurance. She is a certified instructor in American Heart Association BLS CPR and non-violent crisis intervention
